In early 2009, Gordon Geer and Anchor Principal Milton Thomas established a new consulting division within Anchor to provide management assistance to financial institutions with REO properties and other special assets. This new division, called “Distressed Real Estate Asset Management” or DREAM, works hand in hand with Anchor’s existing real estate and property management services but is focused on providing expertise in the development arena.
Gordon is a Charleston native who has worked in the land entitlement and land development business for the past 20 years. In that time he has worked for the Town of Mount Pleasant Planning department, and currently serves as a Commissioner on the City of Charleston Planning Commission. This municipal planning experience has given Gordon a deep understanding the complexities of the regulatory procedures associated with all types of development.
Gordon has a wealth of private sector experience, as well. He spent nearly a decade as a divisional Director of Land for Centex Homes, where he managed the acquisition, entitlement and development portion of the home building business for projects in multiple jurisdictions.
In total, Gordon was directly involved in the zoning approval of over 7500 lots, in more than 25 subdivisions and coordinated the construction of at least 2500 home sites and related infrastructure. He was also president of all Centex Homeowner Associations and managed the day-to-day operations of each neighborhood.
Gordon has seen the land development business from all sides, and he is eager to put that experience to work for Anchor Commercial clients.
